Motorola ZNS CellPhone

Here are some info about Motorola and Kodak new handset. Named ZN5, this phone sports a 5 megapixel autofocus camera module with Xenon flash and LED flash. From the sample shoot, the camera produces an impressive, high-quality result, in both RAW and binned RAW modes. Oh, FYI, the latter mode produces lower resolution photos but preserving color depth.

At just 11.8mm thick, ZN5 cell phone features a QVGA display, a Linux-based operating system, a 3.5mm audio jack, TV out, and a USB slot. Sounds good, but we have to wait since the handset is still on prototype at the moment.

I was looking for a made-in-China dual-GSM cell phone this afternoon when I noticed this interesting Nokia E90 clone. It’s called “NOKLA E90″ and it does look like the real E90, except shorter and fatter. The handset is said to come with two touchscreen LCD, each supports 260K color display and able to recognize your handwriting. When you open the fold up, you’ll also get a QWERTY keyboard, just like Nokia’s E90. Other features include an integrated 2 megapixel camera, media player with 3D sound, 64-polyphonic ringtone, TF media card slot, and GSM/GPRS network.

Not sure about the price, but I might visit the store again tomorrow or later and ask the owner about it. I bet it’d be around $150 - $200 mark.

Update: The price is about $320.

Altina A850 3D GPS Navigation

Altina announces its new GPS navigation system for the Chinese market, A850 3D. This PND offers a realistic maps display, including road, 3D building, and terrain. Interestingly, you can split the screen in half and let the other one display a traditional 2D map. Cool!

Mobile Phone :Philip

Looks like Philips also wants a piece of the full touchscreen mobile phone action. Here is the X800 featuring a huge touchscreen which can be used in both landscape and portrait mode. The phone will be tagged with “e2e" which means "Full edge to edge touch-screen". I would love to see some live pics.

sought-after device of the year.
Take the tour to unravel the secrets that make the HTC Touch Diamond the most sought-after device of the year.

Ring Tones

Mobile Tones now is the most important component that people and users of mobile phones lookout for. That is why in the last few years a considerable development has been done in order to make ring tones as better as possible. Though, the development has not stopped anywhere but it is a fact that with so many people researching their way on the mobile phones and their ring tones, mobile phones and mobile tunes have developed tremendously in a couple of years.
Cell Phone Major Ring Tone
It is amusing that so much effort is been put up as how to make your cell phone ring but it is a fact that now there are so many new technologies that keeping abreast with all of them is a very tedious job. There are a few major ring tones that are getting popular in the people because of their functions and variety of use.
Audio ring tones
Most of the mobile phones that are in the market by leading companies have this one feature built-in with in them. From a very small and compact memory of audio recording for around 3-4 minutes of your voice to much more memory, cell phones have turned more into an audio recording equipment than anything else. Though they are used for a variety of purposes, the much typical is using as a dictation device. Some of the latest models from companies like Nokia, Samsung and Siemens have got such features in their mobile phones in which you can assign record voice recordings as your ring tones. This is no doubt start of a brand new concept that will go a long way in making things better for the music lovers as well as for those who love to personalize their cell phones in their own personal way.
MP3 music tones
Some years back, MP3 set the music industry on fire because of their amazing compression techniques and a very good sound quality. The same is now happening in cell phones as they are going to take up the mobile tones by storm. Though a lot of companies are working on increasing the cell phone memory that can play MP3 songs as it takes a lot of memory, it is in use these days in PDA cell phones as they have a lot of memory in them. Though one of the previous models of Nokia contained the ability to store up to 12 MP3 songs in its memory but not with any such function of playing them as your mobile tones. As mobile phones are having a lot of functions and memory in them because of their variety of use like camera, digital diary, planner as well as music composer, this mobile tone functionality is expected to hit the market very soon.
With the advancement in technology, this is the latest sort of ring tones that will take the whole ring tone industry by storm. Because of their much larger space, they are only been used in a handful of mobile phones but are expected to be a necessary part of every mobile phone in sometime.

Cellphone Memory

A couple of years back, there was no relation defined between cellphones and user memory area. Soon with the onset of imaging and multimedia features into the cellphones, the memory requirement was must. A huge built-in memory could drastically increase the price; hence memory slots were introduced so that each user could satisfy itself upto its own level. Nowadays cellphones have normally 2Mb-16Mb built-in memory pool and an additional memory slot. Below I will discuss the available solutionMultimeida Cards, MMC and RS-MMC
Nokia and some other important cellphone companies use the standard of MMC slots for memory. MMC cards are very light, flash based and around the size of a postage stamp. MMC is also used by devices such as digital cameras and mp3 players. Their size normally varies from 32 MB to 512 MB.
RS MMC i.e. reduced size multimedia cards are almost half the size of MMC cards. They are more efficient to use and adapters are avialable to use RS-MMC cards as MMC or SD cards.
Memory Stick and Variants
Sonyericsson smartphones usually use the memory stick interface to fulfil their memory requirements. There are 3 versions i.e. Regular, Duo, Pro. Regular is somewhat longer in size than others and the first one to be introduced. Adapters are available to use Duo and Pro as regular. Duo provides maximum size upto 1GB while Pro can handle upto 2GB.
Secure Digital (SD) and SDIO
SD cards provide a more advanced concept. You might think that as your desktop computer has a universal interface i.e. USB so that you can connect a variety of devices with it. Then why not a standard interface for cellphones ! . SD comes to fulfil this key goal of standardization. Nowadays advanced cellphones have a standard SDIO interface. In the market, devices are available (eg Memory, Camera, GPS, Modem, Bluetooth, Wifi) with an SDIO interface. So, technically you can connect these devices with your cellphone/smartphone/PDA.
This technology still needs some work to be done but I am sure that it will lead us in the coming years.

Conclusion
All these types have almost similar price and speed; only the technology, shape and lack of standardization matters. Sometimes it matters that the memory is plug and play or not. Like in some cellphones, you have to switch the cellphone off before changing the memory card while in the newer ones, memory is plug n play.
To provide an interface of such cards with your PC, universal or specific USB card readers are available with very cheap price in the market.
This area is close to standardization and I am sure that we'll see something different in the coming quarters.
Memory Typess in current situation.
